Three days of fandom squee

Remember me saying something about how Christmas chaos was yet to hit me? It hit me, hard, three days ago, and I'm only now recovering. Keep coughing up tinsel.

Thursday I went into the city to Minotaur to pick up presents for my nearest and darling-est, Rhii and Bron. I managed to get myself a book (Will The Vampire People Please Leave The Lobby? by Allyson Beatrice) which made me very happy, as well as the gifts I wanted. For the record, Minotaur had no Twilight stuff. They did have posters, but they were all sold out, and they're the same two that What's New has. I met my mum for lunch at her work, and we went present shopping, which nearly killed the pair of us because we walked up and down Glenferrie Road in Hawthorn with a steadily increasing number of bags. My 21st birthday present, a diamond ring, was fitted and bought (I nearly cried, it was so PRETTY), as were the remainder of my Christmas presents (a shirt and scarf) and presents for my cousins.

Friday I went shopping with Bron, her younger sis, and their mum. Bron loved the present I gave her, and therefore I can probably get away with murder now because I am her absolute favourite person ever. We walked around until our feet hurt and our arms nearly fell off under the weight of bags and bags and bags. I found a book for my dad, and two books for me, one of which is Prom Night From Hell, with contributions from Stephanie Meyer and Meg Cabbot (*squee*). The best part, however, was that What's New FINALLY had the Twilight poster I wanted, so I bought it and the Bite Me (Edward 4 Eva) shirt. THAT is happiness, right there! :) The poster has taken pride of place over my bed, replacing my much loved Emily The Strange poster (I'm sorry, Emily, I'll put you back up when I get over my current obsession!).

Today? Well, today I took my sis to see High School Musical 3: Senior Year, and it wasn't all that bad. I'm not a huge fan of the franchise (I tend to cringe and laugh inappropriately and get glared at by my sis) but I did like this one. When we were watching the previews (my sis makes us get there EARLY so she never misses the previews, and then tells me she wants to see every damn movie advertised) there was one for Ice Age 3: Dawn of the Dinosaurs. I think at this point I should admit my absolute love for children's animated films. I'm very glad I still have a sis of the appropriate age group so that when we go to see them it looks like I'm the big sister stuck taking the little sister out. In reality, it's me going, "you wanna see *insert film name*? I'll take you. I'll pay! Please?" :) Suffice to say, Ice Age 3 looks good.

Oh, finally, I'm yet to figure out how one does an lj cut. If anyone could help, that would be awesome. :)

I am having Twilight withdrawals... I need to get the poster, or see the movie again. Did you see it this weekend?

No, I didn't end up seeing it this weekend. Got very busy with stuff. Mostly creative stuff involving velvet, a box, and glue. I won't go into detail, but somehow it all looks okay, regardless of the glue being spilled and the red velvet shedding off in tiny little balls of annoying that cover everything.

Thank you for the lj cut thingy! :)
